New For 2021

The 2021 model year makes a few changes to the already existing trim levels. The SEL trim has a new feature that sounds a warning if a passenger or the driver tries to open a door while the Sonata is in traffic. If you get the Limited trim, it has gained a height adjustment feature for the passenger seat. The biggest addition to the Sonata in 2021 is the arrival of a new trim. It's called the N Line, and it is at the top of the range. It has a sporty look and upgraded performance.

The Sonata has a few different choices for engines. The base engine is a V4 rated for 191 horsepower. If you want to upgrade, then there is a turbocharged version that gets 180 horsepower, but more torque and acceleration. The upgrade is a good choice because it adds some welcome power and pickup to the performance. In terms of the transmission, the Sonata has an eight-speed automatic transmission that feels seamless and smooth as it moves from gear to gear-- you won't even notice that it's there as you commute around Seekonk.

Sonata Trims

There are five trims to choose from on the 2021 Sonata. The base trim is called the SE. It has an eight-inch touchscreen that controls all the tech. You can connect an Android or Apple smartphone with the onboard connectivity software. It has a suite of driver assistance software, like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and more. This is a pretty impressive list for a base trim, as most cars lock advanced features like adaptive cruise control to high trims. The second trim is the SEL. It adds on a slew of new tech and performance features. These include radio upgrades, telematics, some more driver assistance tools, and more. There are also some packages that you can add on if you want to expand the feature list, and some of them can make the Sonata positively luxury.

The SEL Plus combines some of the packages and options of the SEL at a reduced price than the SEL. The Limited trim was the top of the line in 2020. It has luxury components like leather upholstery, heating and ventilation for the front seats, a surround camera system, and more driver assistance. The new top trim in 2021 is the N Line. It has an exclusive new engine with a lot more power, sports seats, and a redesigned interior and exterior.

The 2021 Sonata is a great family car, and the new N Line trim gives it a fun and sporty configuration. It gives a new edge to the car, and it's just one more reason to buy it in 2021. If you are in the market for a new sedan, then take a look at the Sonata and consider giving it a test drive. You'll be impressed with the performance as well as the interior, especially if you opt for one of the higher trims in the range.
